A HUGE thank you to Brian Calhoun of Weez’s Groovin BBQ for supporting our charity’s initiatives with his generous donation. We are grateful for your support!
Thank you Big Hollow
The Big Hollow school district recently held their Autism Awareness week during the month of April. They raised $160 to donate to Autism Family Cares. Thank you staff and students of Big Hollow who continue to be big supporters of our mission.
We Are Thankful
Our little group has been making some big changes! We have recently rolled out our brand new website (seen here) right on the tail of our very successful and fun Trunk or Treat event. We’re also in the middle of planning our annual holiday party and hope to see you there!
Autism Family Cares is a non-profit organization under the SEDOL Foundation. The group is lead by a board that currently consists of Dana Allard, Julie Weissheimer, and Kat Kooi. All of the planning and execution of events, groups and services is performed by our wonderful volunteers who we are immensely thankful for.
Autism Family Cares funds all events through donations to our group. Please consider donating to Autism Family Cares this holiday season, (many workplaces will match donations!); or shop with a small business owner who may be donating a portion of their proceeds to our cause (see our Facebook page for opportunities!). We were recently lucky enough to be the recipients of a donation from a Wines For Humanity event held by the Association for Operating Room Nurses. Thank you!
Those donations will be going towards continuing our current events and services, as well as adding more! In addition to our redesigned website, we are also working on a basic autism education program targeted to adults in the community as well as adding an ‘eating out’ event streamlined for families that may need practice at a ‘sit down’ style restaurant.
Please follow us on Facebook so you can find out about our 2020 events!
